We shouldn t talk like this about Brasil.

I studied with other friends in Victoria s class. I just enjoy Australia but I wouldnt say bad things about my country. I know we have many problems as a poor country, but to be a brasilian makes me proud. Its my country. Say good things about your country. We have good things runnig here and i Know many conutries, like England, Usa, France, Argentina, and others and every body defend their homes. Do the same. It will make you great. Your store about your car shows your good english, but you dont need to publish a so bad notice about our Brasil. Excuse me if a told some trues. And ask people from Corea, Japan, etc if they publish out of their country a notice like yours about Brasil. Bad, Bad. That s like i am feeling about. Hugs to every body a knew in Australia, (Sidney, Cairns, ....). By Rodrigo.

Traffic Lights - By ALEX

This plot is based in real facts and it happened with me.
One day like any day, it was 5am on Monday and my alarm clock rang again. It was a new day coming, my head hurt a bit, maybe because it was that hangover again, I´d been partying all weekend. Anyway, I supposed everything were all right, “wake up, loo, shower, dress up, coffee”, and they really were, except for the coffee that I took in my home instead of take it away.

Fortunately I had a car in Brazil although it was very expensive to keep it, I used to work too far, i needed it. Before I´d gone to servo and put some petrol so I took my way to job. During my trip I´d stopped in a crossing, the traffic light was red when I turned the radio up and suddenly my window was smashed by a shot. It was a mugger attempting to grab my car. I was so horrified about it that I leapt to the passenger sit and leaved the car as fast as I could.

The mugger was about my age and unfortunately he stole my car, but in the other hand I was alive, I survived the robbery. After that I never more saw my car again, also the police told me that they were following the suspect.

To sum up, from now on I believe that traffic lights can murder me. I´d heard lots of cases like this one, but I never realized that it happened with me.

Living in the country side (Written by Kosuke and Heeyoun)

Living in the country side has the Pros and Cons. Some people prefer live in the city, and others prefer live in the country side.

One advantage is that we can breathe with clean air. Also, it is easier to buy a fresh food like a organic vegetable. Moreover, we can enjoy many outdoor activities. For instance, climbing, swimming, camping, and bushwalking. All in all, country side life is good for children and old people.

However, for every plus there is a minus. There are not enough jobs, and public transport. In addition, there are not many cultural places ; theatres, museums, shopping malls and multiplexes. Finally, in spite of many activities, sometimes we can feel bored.

All things considered, in our opinion living in the country side is attractive to old people and children, and those who need a healthy life. Nevertheless, young people like to live the city. And we are young so we want to live in the city.

Living in the country (by Amada, Chih-Hao and Elisa)

Living in the country has good points and bad points. On the plus side, the quality of life is better, because the people who live here are more friendly and relaxed. And countryside is safer than the city, so you don't need to lock your doors. In addition, there are many beautiful places, and the air isn't polluted. So it's good for kids to grow up healthily, because the food is fresher and the water is clear. It's good for older people. Moreover, don't have traffic and people can do the things by walking.

However, on the down side, another point is that you don't have night life and universities. And it's difficult to find a job. Maybe you need to drive to city for working. You can't do shopping, go to the cinema and theatre. The other people is easy to know your life.

In conclusion, if you live in the countryside, you can have a better and longer life. Value the little things importants in your life.

Maya and Misaki

Living in the Countryside

Living in the countryside has many advantages.

One advantage is that, there isn’t pollution. So we can get fresh air and natural food which is good for your health. Also, there are not too many cars which means less pollution. However, there isn’t much public transport which means it’s difficult to get around.
What is more, when you want to relax, you can enjoy in your town. There are so quiet and peaceful. Especially, it is safe for children, there are less criminals than city.
Another point is that, the prices in the countryside are lower than in the city. So it’s particularly easy to find cheap accommodation.

In conclusion, in my opinion I prefer to live in the countryside!
Living in the countryside has both advantages and disadvantages.

On the plus side, it has beautiful views. In addition, is a good place to raise your childrean. For example, you don't have crime and the dangers of the city. Another point is that you have clean air, and there's no pollution. What is more, it's cheaper than the city and you don't need too much money for have a good standart of life. And It's not busy
so you have a lot of time to share with your family and friends.

However, for every plus there is a minus. For one thing, although it's very cheap, it's difficult to find a job. Furthermore, public health is worst than the city and hospitals are sometime further away.

In conclusion , we think the countryside life can be a really good options for young marriage when they decide to start to have childrean.

The Pros and Cons of living in the country - By Alex and David

Living in country has some Pros and some Cons.
One advantage is that quiet and a good place to rest. For example, you can take the fresh air in the morning, sitting on the balcony smoking an original cigarette. Also, you can enjoy the nature, see the birds and talk to the friendly country-dweller.
On the other hand, for every plus there is a minus. Sometimes living in the country is very boring because there aren’t many things to do and places to go out. In addition if you live in the country, you’ll probably become lazy.
To sum up, we think that country is boring for some people, and interesting for others. Although we’d definitely like to live in the country because we are sick and tired of living in the city.

Written by Alex

Now I´m thrilled to bits!

When I started working a couple of years ago in Brazil, my first day I felt on the top of the world, because it was my first job of course! And every single day I thought ‘I have to be an active person, hard working and do everything what my boss wants to do’. And I really used to be like that, everything my boss wanted to do, I did.

A few months later that I realized I was the only person who was hard working and I really was immersed in my job, this was affecting me, every day when I came back home I was on edge without a reason. I couldn´t blame my parents and myself, I was fed up with my boss and my job.

I was sick and tired of working there in that company then I quitted working and came to Australia to improve my English.

Now I think that job in Brazil were trying to hinder me, my life and my plans. I fell optimistic and content with my decision to travel to Australia and it´s a new chance to change my life. Every day here I usually put my flip flop, go to Manly Beach and stare at the sun the whole afternoon. I think this is the best way to fill my time here in Sydney.

This travel to Australia made my day!

Camila's Profile

Hi everyone!!!!!
My name is Camila, I am 20 years old and this is the 4º profile that I have to write, sooooo hey ho let's go =)

I'm from Santos, the most beautiful city in Brazil!
There is the VILA BELMIRO, which is the stadium of the best soccer team in the world... SANTOS FUTEBOL CLUBE!!!!!!!!
Yeah, can you see? I'm very modest! hahahahahahahahahaha

No, I'm kidding...
I'm here in Australia to improve my English and to work. Actually I'm already working, but it's a casual work so I keep looking for another job. A part time job would be perfect! =)
In Brazil I was studying Journalism, but I started to hate Journalism so I stopped the course to come here. Why I started to hate Journalism? Because I think Journalism (journalists in general) is/are dirty, unfair and they're all liers.

I live in Manly (of course, because Manly it's part of Brazil and not of Australia anymore) with my boyfriend and two foreign girls. One from German and the other from France. My boyfriend and I decided to live with foreign people because we know that this will be good for our English. If we want to go back to Brazil speaking fluently English, we have to make this work it out!!!!!

I really miss my dogs, my family and my friends. But I'm having a great time here in Sydney!

Whale Rider

Rodrigo Caracas

Duo. Cd by cesar camargo mariano, and jose camargo, both play piano and violao. It is really great. We appreciate how these two creative muscian are imaginative in their musical arrangements. Cesar, as always, plays his piano very and very well. Amazing the way he lets jose come up with his own solo's. Its realy umbelivieble the performance that both of these two super professional musicians show their art, playing so well and really good to hear. I' d just say, buy it. Right now. You'll enjoy it for many years. Fantastic!!!

Maya's review - DVD

Actually, the reason why I bought it is for studying English. This is a DVD I'd recommend for ladies or a person who wants studying English with script of movie.
The title of film is and Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Jack Black to star in it. I heard their clear English pronunciation and the script has a lot of useful sentences.
In my opinion, It hasn't any special effect and the plot is really simple, but this one is comparatively easy to understand English for intermediate level! It'll help your listening and reading practices!! And the story what they are in search of love and happiness also will make your heart is getting warm^^*
A terrific and helpful movie! If you didn't watch yet, Try to see it! Highly recommended!!!

Misaki's review

Title:The Devil Wears PRADA

I watched the DVD 2 years ago.One of my friend recommended it,so I rented and watched. The story is about one woman who works in magazin company. She isn't fashinable at the beginning of story but she becomes more and more beautiful while she's working in the company. In this company, there is very very strict boss and the woman suffers from this boss. The main character grow up because of this boss.

This movie is absolutely excellent!!!It contains love, work and laugh. It's one of the best movie for me.Especially I am fascinated with clothes that acrtess wears.

The visual effect of this movie is brilliant!!The actress's fashions are very cute and fashionable.I really enjoyed watching their clothes, make up and hair style.

The character of the boss is ridiculous because she is too much strict so it's not realistic. But I like her.Sometimes she is funny.

This move is quiet good for gilrls who is intereted in fashion, make up and love.I can give this movie "5 stars"!!!Unless you are girl, you'll like this movie.

Heeyoun's review

I absolutely love reading.
My review is about the Korean book.
The title is [Even if you live right or wrong, I'll always help you.]

I usually don't read about rules of life.
But, I choose a book about that.
Because before I came to Austalia, I was in a really terrible situation.

The author speaks to the reader as if it's her daughter.
After I read the book, I felt empowerd.

If you are planning to study abroad, I'd highly recommend reading this book.

Roxana. Who I admire

I admire one person in my family, this is my sister Carmen. She has been working all her life and  she's helped her brothers and sisters when they needed it.
My sister is the second of six brothers and sisters. She has always helped my parents with my brothers, because she was the female and my brothers were a male. When I was born, she looked after me,she was like my second mother.
I think she is an ambitious and courageous person, she worked hard to pay for her studies in Paris.
My sister taught  me many things about  life, for example when I need to stay calm in a crisis, and have a positive attitude. She tells me that I must be fair to the people who work with me.

I'm sorry Victoria because I changed the person who I admire, but I Think my sister is more important to me than Woody Allen.

maya's admire

She is my role model for my life. Her name is Hyun-ok Song, my professor. Actually, she is a talented theatre director. Also she is a celebrity in my country, because she is known for being the Mayor of Seoul's wife. I learned from her the master's cours of Act in University and we've worked together in performance. To work with her is itself a privilege for me. But she advised not only about acting, also she sometimes guides me about my life. Her husband is a stateman, so she is always very busy, but she is hardworking as a director. Sometimes she works nights by herself. But she is not too tired to look after her students, She is a very tolerant person.

- not finished yet. i'll do by homework.. haha ^^*

benjamin

I am going to speak about one of my best friends who is very famous in our country new caledonia.he was born in new caledonia and we are friends since de age of 12.Tom is very famous for his main achievement to be the best kitesurfer in new caledonia and now he is one of the best in the world.I think he showed to caledonian people his determination and talent, that is why he is famous now,and also in other country, and especially for the girls...
But I admire him for his stretch:he comes from a normal family, her mother bought him the first kite and he made do with this, and now he is sponsorship by maybe 2 or 3 compagnies(wear, kite equipment..),and now he can travel for free all over the world, but he has to win his competitions.I find him very courageous to succed his life like this, always without help from his familly or anybody else.

Mirella I admire my mother

My mother, her name is Pasqua Murer, married Schlegel is born in France on 1921.

My grandmother was still of visit her husband doing his work, he was a miner worked always onder the ground, when it happeneds.
In the summertime, they lived together in a smole village in the mountains of North Italien, so my grandfather coud help to work outsite in the field's.
They had 5 children, but the last born has died by the birth. Pasqua is the thirt child, then my aunt conjoined.
My mother helpt at home and went only 4 years at elementar-school.
Because there were poor, she had to walk into her valley and knocking at every door to ask for benefit/charity. Often she didn't recive anything, but sometimes money or something to eat, so she had to bring toes back to here family.
When she was twelf year old, she had to go in a forengh family in Milano. There, her work was to look after the children.
She married in 1944.
Unfortunately after that, at the same month, her husband was killed in Aosta by German militars.
In this moment she was still pragnent, by my brother, he, Vittorio is born in September 1945.
So sorry, but she coudn't stay with her first child, because she was verv poor and vedov, so without any help.
She oern her live giving her own milk to forengh children in Milano. Vittorio had to stay with her mother, our grandmother Fioretta, in the montains fare from Milano.
After the second war mondial , 1946, the borders between countrys had been opened and in St. Gallen, Switzerland, there is still a manifatury of bordery, and they looked at that time for worker's to help to expander prodution.
So three sisters/brothers and my mother went there togheter to work at industries, hey where courageous but not alone.

I'm proud of my mother, because she was a serios person, determined of looking to keep monay. She was, because she dieed up accident in june 2005, original, she coudn't speek German when she arrived but she was abbel to help her self in this occassion whith hand and feet.

Also a hardworker, bat also loved by her withworkers. She had a special kind of humor speeking with people. She was a beauty in her yonger jears.

Because buying only valable things she learned my to keep money, to have nice thinks.

I love her very much.

I(Heeyoun) admire the author 'Sung seokjae'

Sung seokjae is my favourite writer.

He is very unique. I can't explain anymore than he is unique.
His writing is unique, he writes collecions of short stories.
And then, there is no lesson.

He told about lies,"What is the lie? It makes life fertile and extends human's power of imagination.
He speaks to us like a grandfather speaks to his grandson.

He doesn't preach, he just tells us about life.

I like that simplicity.
I love the writing so much,I don't want it to end.
Because I'm not sure when he will publish another writing.

Heeyoun's idal party

Hello, I'm Heeyoun!^^

In Korea, a party is something special.
For example, a wedding party, a Christmas party, and 60th birthday party, etc.
So, I'm not familiar with parties.
If I imagine my ideal party, the place is in Seoul, W hotel.
And I'll invite my friends in Australia. Also, Victoria.
W hotel is located on ACHA mountain and we would be able to see the Han river.
The night view is very very beautiful.

We can eat various food, listen to music, dance, take a spa.
After that, I'll introduce you to Seoul.!! ^^

But it's just ideal party.T.T

Bye!! Have a nice weekend!!

Mirella's fevorit food

At the morning i usually eat Chocolat, dark bret with butter and marmelad. But here in Manly i'm allways trink chochalat and eat Toast or some different tip of cornflakes.

My prefered eat are patatos. Wi can them make/cooking off a lot of different meals.

My prefered patatos are in baking ofen with Rosemary on.

What I like to eat very often is fruit and vegetable.

I d'ont like to eat much meal.

It is because we dont need them as often as fruit and vegetable.

The most of the animals are keep in a worst manier, also the hav to die cruality and that does not been healthly for humain.

But I now some farmer hu keeps them very well and give them nice food, so I bourght there for eat.

So when I/We habe lunch I eat my faforit plate is a lot of salat, poligon salat of carrot whit Oil from Olive and vinegar from Itay, green one from garden and a lot of onion it.

To have supper or dinner the must I like is to diner out and eat trout with cook/patatos and some vegetables.

Patatos are as better as farinaceos products because paste makes my/our body acid.

Victoria's favourite & least favourite food

I love lots of different types of food from all over the world so its quite hard for me to think of just one favourite food. So, while I'm deciding on my favourite, I'll tell you about my least favourite food. In fact, I dislike this food so much that I might have to use a very strong word to describe how I feel, a word which I don't usually use, and that word is hate. I can't stand, I detest, I loathe....celery! I think it's a pointless food. There are hardly any calories in it so there's no real nutritional value in eating the food, it has a funny stringy consistency and worst of all it tastes horrible. For me, a taste quite like no other food I've ever eaten. I just don't like the stuff! So, there you have it; my least favourite food in the world.

Now when it comes to food I do like, there are lots in the running for my most favourite. But if I think of a food that I could just not live without that would have to be eggs. Only organic eggs, mind you. I adore eggs, I love eggs, I'm so very keen on eggs that I eat them almost every day of the week. Scrambled eggs, poached eggs, omlette, fried eggs, boiled eggs, any way eggs come I love them! Eggs for breakfast are the best way to start the day. So, if you want my recommendation for the best food in the world I say EGGS!!!

It's Maya ^-^*

My name is Maya . It's just a nick name for foreign friends. Actually my Korean name is "Yeoul Kang", but I think the pronunciation of my real name might be difficult for you, so I made it up. Just call me "Maya" please^-^* I'm from South Korea, a beautiful country! and.. Now I'm 27 years old. but I look about 17, don't I?? hhh ^.^ I'd like to be a good friend for you with no age limit~! I'm interested in making new friends and also I sometimes enjoy drinking and talking with them! I'm the only daughter of my mum, so I haven't got any siblings. So I love all my friends a lot! I want to study English very hard in Australia and i'm now going with the best teacher Victoria!!! I really love my class~!!! Let's keep in touch! see you^o^*

My name is Roxana

My name is Roxana,I'm 38 years old and I'm from Spain. I live in Madrid, but I was born in Asturias in the north of Spain. I have a big family, three brothers and two sisters, I'm the youngest.
I'm interested in learning English, but sometimes I feel a little bit sad, because I think I haven't improved my English, and the solution is drink one beer and then I improve my english.(It's a joke Victoria).
Now my interests is meet people and countries. I would like to have more time and much money for travel, but it's imposible, I need to come back to Spain and work again, but I don't mind because I like it.
One friend gave me a sentence, and every day I read it,today I give it to you Victoria.

Life does not put things in front of you that you are unable to handle.

Thank you Victoria for teaching me every day.

i INTRODUCE MYSELF TO YOU

My name is Mirella Schlegel Gross. Schlegel is the name of my father, Gross then is the name of my husband. My uncle gave me the name Mirella which is very rare.
My age is today 56 years, 6 months and 2 days - middle aged.
I am from Switzerland, I was born there, but my mother was born in Italy and went to Switzerland in the Year 1945,
So I am half Italian and half swiss.
When I was 4 years old, I had to learn german but because I was very young I learnt it very fast and easily.
My interests are swimming in the summertime, but not in wintertime in a House with aswimmingpool.
I like to listen to the radio very much. I do that every day for 2 hours and I am interested in Sozialthemata, Politics all over the word and last but not least classical music.
My family existed only for 4 years, then my father went away and left us, my brother Viktor and my mother, alone.
So my mother had to go to work to earn money and I was too young, so they put me in a house for children. There i grew up, with a lot of other children, we went out for school to the normal school, but we are wearing special clothes. When the time came to get out, I wasn't happy, because I felt at home there. So I was 15 years old when I went back to my mother, but we didn't know about each other and I was just in my mid teens, so we had a lot of problems. later on it was better. I do not have a lot of true friends, we call them in Switzerland different. My best friend is also my husband. But I have also an old friend, we went to professioal school together and since then we spent a lot of time together.

This is Chih-Hao

Hello, I'm Chih-Hao.I come from Taipei inTaiwan.
I was born in 1976, but I have a baby face, so I look younger than my age.(It's not my idea, many friends have told me this..^^)

There are four people in my family. I have only one brother. My young brother is Jay, he is thirty-one years old. Many people say that we look like twins. And also they always guess that he is older than me..^^

I've studied at A.C.E. Manly for four months. I still remember before I came to Australia, I couldn't speak a whole sentence. It was a big problem for me, so when I have to transfer in the international airport, I was very nervous. As I was really worried about my poor English.
But I have a very good teacher and the best classmates at A.C.E., so I've improved my English now. It doesn't mean I can speak very well, but I think I can speak clearer than before. Also my friends can understand me..^^

I love my teacher.
I love my classmates.
Of course, I love my life in Manly...

Hi, I'm Victoria, your teacher. I've been working at A.C.E Manly since September 2008. I really love working at A.C.E. because I have fantastic students!
Originally, I come from Bradford, which is a city in the north of England. Bradford is the sixth largest city in England and is a very multi-cultural city with lots of people from all over the world. There are great restaurants in Bradford, particularly Asian restaurants as Bradford has many people from Indian, Pakistani, and Afghanistan. Bradford is known as the curry capital of the north. If you ever go to Bradford you should definately try a curry!
I moved to Manly because I am married to an Australian. My husband, James, was born in Manly but has a Welsh/Scottish Mum, and a Scottish Dad. James is a surf instructor and he works at Manly Surf School on Manly beach.
In my spare time I enjoy running, swimming and, when I have time, reading. Back in the U.K. I used to spend time indoor rock climbing and mountain climbing with my brother Simon. I have attached a video of me doing a very treacherous river jump! Don't you think I am brave?
I'm very excited about our new class blog - I think we will have fun doing the blog each week. I hope you enjoy the blog too.
Happy blogging!
