Traffic Lights - By ALEX

This plot is based in real facts and it happened with me.
One day like any day, it was 5am on Monday and my alarm clock rang again. It was a new day coming, my head hurt a bit, maybe because it was that hangover again, I´d been partying all weekend. Anyway, I supposed everything were all right, “wake up, loo, shower, dress up, coffee”, and they really were, except for the coffee that I took in my home instead of take it away.

Fortunately I had a car in Brazil although it was very expensive to keep it, I used to work too far, i needed it. Before I´d gone to servo and put some petrol so I took my way to job. During my trip I´d stopped in a crossing, the traffic light was red when I turned the radio up and suddenly my window was smashed by a shot. It was a mugger attempting to grab my car. I was so horrified about it that I leapt to the passenger sit and leaved the car as fast as I could.

The mugger was about my age and unfortunately he stole my car, but in the other hand I was alive, I survived the robbery. After that I never more saw my car again, also the police told me that they were following the suspect.

To sum up, from now on I believe that traffic lights can murder me. I´d heard lots of cases like this one, but I never realized that it happened with me.

Living in the country side (Written by Kosuke and Heeyoun)

Living in the country side has the Pros and Cons. Some people prefer live in the city, and others prefer live in the country side.

One advantage is that we can breathe with clean air. Also, it is easier to buy a fresh food like a organic vegetable. Moreover, we can enjoy many outdoor activities. For instance, climbing, swimming, camping, and bushwalking. All in all, country side life is good for children and old people.

However, for every plus there is a minus. There are not enough jobs, and public transport. In addition, there are not many cultural places ; theatres, museums, shopping malls and multiplexes. Finally, in spite of many activities, sometimes we can feel bored.

All things considered, in our opinion living in the country side is attractive to old people and children, and those who need a healthy life. Nevertheless, young people like to live the city. And we are young so we want to live in the city.

Living in the country (by Amada, Chih-Hao and Elisa)

Living in the country has good points and bad points. On the plus side, the quality of life is better, because the people who live here are more friendly and relaxed. And countryside is safer than the city, so you don't need to lock your doors. In addition, there are many beautiful places, and the air isn't polluted. So it's good for kids to grow up healthily, because the food is fresher and the water is clear. It's good for older people. Moreover, don't have traffic and people can do the things by walking.

However, on the down side, another point is that you don't have night life and universities. And it's difficult to find a job. Maybe you need to drive to city for working. You can't do shopping, go to the cinema and theatre. The other people is easy to know your life.

In conclusion, if you live in the countryside, you can have a better and longer life. Value the little things importants in your life.

Living in the Countryside

Living in the countryside has many advantages.

One advantage is that, there isn’t pollution. So we can get fresh air and natural food which is good for your health. Also, there are not too many cars which means less pollution. However, there isn’t much public transport which means it’s difficult to get around.
What is more, when you want to relax, you can enjoy in your town. There are so quiet and peaceful. Especially, it is safe for children, there are less criminals than city.
Another point is that, the prices in the countryside are lower than in the city. So it’s particularly easy to find cheap accommodation.

In conclusion, in my opinion I prefer to live in the countryside!
Living in the countryside has both advantages and disadvantages.

On the plus side, it has beautiful views. In addition, is a good place to raise your childrean. For example, you don't have crime and the dangers of the city. Another point is that you have clean air, and there's no pollution. What is more, it's cheaper than the city and you don't need too much money for have a good standart of life. And It's not busy
so you have a lot of time to share with your family and friends.

However, for every plus there is a minus. For one thing, although it's very cheap, it's difficult to find a job. Furthermore, public health is worst than the city and hospitals are sometime further away.

In conclusion , we think the countryside life can be a really good options for young marriage when they decide to start to have childrean.

The Pros and Cons of living in the country - By Alex and David

Living in country has some Pros and some Cons.
One advantage is that quiet and a good place to rest. For example, you can take the fresh air in the morning, sitting on the balcony smoking an original cigarette. Also, you can enjoy the nature, see the birds and talk to the friendly country-dweller.
On the other hand, for every plus there is a minus. Sometimes living in the country is very boring because there aren’t many things to do and places to go out. In addition if you live in the country, you’ll probably become lazy.
To sum up, we think that country is boring for some people, and interesting for others. Although we’d definitely like to live in the country because we are sick and tired of living in the city.

Written by Alex

Now I´m thrilled to bits!

When I started working a couple of years ago in Brazil, my first day I felt on the top of the world, because it was my first job of course! And every single day I thought ‘I have to be an active person, hard working and do everything what my boss wants to do’. And I really used to be like that, everything my boss wanted to do, I did.

A few months later that I realized I was the only person who was hard working and I really was immersed in my job, this was affecting me, every day when I came back home I was on edge without a reason. I couldn´t blame my parents and myself, I was fed up with my boss and my job.

I was sick and tired of working there in that company then I quitted working and came to Australia to improve my English.

Now I think that job in Brazil were trying to hinder me, my life and my plans. I fell optimistic and content with my decision to travel to Australia and it´s a new chance to change my life. Every day here I usually put my flip flop, go to Manly Beach and stare at the sun the whole afternoon. I think this is the best way to fill my time here in Sydney.

This travel to Australia made my day!

Camila's Profile

Hi everyone!!!!!
My name is Camila, I am 20 years old and this is the 4ยบ profile that I have to write, sooooo hey ho let's go =)

I'm from Santos, the most beautiful city in Brazil!
There is the VILA BELMIRO, which is the stadium of the best soccer team in the world... SANTOS FUTEBOL CLUBE!!!!!!!!
Yeah, can you see? I'm very modest! hahahahahahahahahaha

No, I'm kidding...
I'm here in Australia to improve my English and to work. Actually I'm already working, but it's a casual work so I keep looking for another job. A part time job would be perfect! =)
In Brazil I was studying Journalism, but I started to hate Journalism so I stopped the course to come here. Why I started to hate Journalism? Because I think Journalism (journalists in general) is/are dirty, unfair and they're all liers.

I live in Manly (of course, because Manly it's part of Brazil and not of Australia anymore) with my boyfriend and two foreign girls. One from German and the other from France. My boyfriend and I decided to live with foreign people because we know that this will be good for our English. If we want to go back to Brazil speaking fluently English, we have to make this work it out!!!!!

I really miss my dogs, my family and my friends. But I'm having a great time here in Sydney!

Errr... What else?
I love chocolate as well and since I arrived here, I put on weight (more than 7 kilos!!!!!) and my acne decided to appear on my face. I HATE THIS!
